As Chief Technology Officer and co-founder of UPyTher, Peter-Paul Fransen leads the company’s technology and innovation strategy and oversees all R&D and product development activities. He is a key inventors behind UPyTher’s proprietary hydrogel technology and is named inventor on the company’s patent portfolio. His expertise in supramolecular chemistry, biomaterials, and drug delivery systems has been instrumental in translating advanced material science into UPyTher’s scalable platform technology and a robust pipeline of differentiated drug products. Peter-Paul holds an MSc in Biomedical Engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology and a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of Barcelona. Following his return to TU/e in 2014, he focused on the development of supramolecular hydrogels for drug delivery, work that formed the scientific basis for UPyTher’s hydrogel-drug formulations.
