Geert van Almen co-founded UPyTher in 2021 and leads the company’s strategy and operations. He played a central role in identifying the potential of UPyTher’s hydrogel technology and establishing the company. He successfully secured non-dilutive and venture capital to advance the platform and pipeline. Geert holds an MSc in Health Sciences and a PhD in Medical Sciences and Molecular Biology from Maastricht University. Prior to founding UPyTher, he conducted research on supramolecular biomaterials at Eindhoven University of Technology and later transitioned into business development. His interdisciplinary background enables him to effectively bridge medical sciences, technology, and commercial development in the company’s growth strategy.
